What is YourSingaporeTrip?
YourSingaporeTrip is an independent travel information site dedicated entirely to Singapore. We publish comprehensive, fact-checked guides covering everything first-time and returning visitors need: visas, Changi Airport, getting around, food and hawker centres, hotels and accommodation, attractions, day-by-day itineraries, and budget planning.
Every guide is written in plain language, structured so you can find answers fast, and verified against official sources including the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the Land Transport Authority (LTA), and Changi Airport Group.
Our Research Methodology
Most travel guides are written from a writer's personal experience — a week's visit, a particular travel style, one set of interests. We took a different approach.
We analysed over 55,000 real questions asked by travellers planning trips to Singapore, sourced from travel forums, Q&A platforms, and search query data. This dataset revealed exactly what travellers are confused about, what information is hard to find, and what questions are repeatedly left unanswered by existing guides.
Every section of every guide on this site is structured around real questions from that dataset. If a topic doesn't appear in what travellers ask, it doesn't get an outsized amount of space. If a question comes up thousands of times, it gets a clear, direct answer at the top of the relevant section.
A large question dataset exposes the full distribution of traveller needs — not just the obvious ones. It surfaces minority-language travellers, travellers with disabilities, budget constraints at both extremes, and specific transit scenarios (6-hour layover vs. 10-day trip) that smaller samples miss.
Editorial Standards
We maintain the following standards across all content:
- No paid placements. Hotels, restaurants, attractions, and services are included based on relevance and quality — never because a business paid for inclusion.
- Verification against official sources. Visa rules, entry requirements, transport fares, and attraction prices are cross-checked against official Singapore government and operator sources before publication.
- Regular updates. Guides are reviewed and updated when policies, prices, or conditions change. The last-updated date is displayed on every guide page.
- Price transparency. All prices are stated in Singapore dollars (SGD) at time of last update. We note when significant seasonal variation applies.
Languages
All guide content is available in both English and Simplified Chinese (普通话/简体中文). The Chinese guides are fully translated — not machine-translated — and adapted for Chinese-speaking travellers, including China mainland visitors who qualify for Singapore's 30-day visa-free entry.
